v1.0.0 EZKanban has no update checker. It makes no network requests at all, so it can’t tell you when a new version exists. This page always links the latest. What’s new

The EZKanban board open below its menu bar icon: Inbox with four cards, Doing with two of its three slots in use, and Done with three finished cards, on a frosted panel with a faint colour glow.

What it does

No decisions now. One rule later.

Capture from anywhere

One hotkey opens a single text field over whatever you’re doing, full-screen apps included. Type, hit Return, and you’re back where you were. No column picker, no tags, no dates. Paste a list and every line becomes a card.

A board in your menu bar

Inbox, Doing, Done. Drag cards between columns or drive it all from the keyboard. Doing holds three cards, so finish something first. Done clears itself after 48 hours, into an archive you can keep.

Plain JSON, on your disk

The whole board is one readable file, board.json. Edit it in any text editor or from a script and the open board updates live. Every write is atomic, and ⌘Z undoes the last change.

Yours. Local. Plain text.

EZKanban has no accounts, no sync, and no analytics, and it never touches the network. Your cards live in one JSON file in your Library folder, and your preferences sit in your user defaults. The app is open source under the MIT license.
