The short version: nothing leaves your Mac.
Last updated · October 8, 2026
EZKanban is a small, local-only macOS app. It runs entirely on your computer, talks to no servers, and has no concept of an account, a user, or a session. There is no "us" collecting anything about you. The app just keeps your task list in a file on your own disk.
What EZKanban stores
-
Your board, in one plain JSON file:
~/Library/Application Support/EZKanban/board.json. It holds each card’s ID, text, column, position, and two timestamps (when you created it and when it last changed columns). If a hand edit ever leaves that file unreadable, EZKanban saves a backup copy of it next to the original before writing. -
Your archive: Done cards older than 48 hours are moved to
archive.jsonlin the same folder, so finished work isn’t silently deleted. - Your preferences (hotkeys, the menu bar Inbox count, and launch-at-login) in your user defaults, the standard macOS preferences store.
All of it stays on your machine. To remove everything, delete the app, the
EZKanban folder above, and
~/Library/Preferences/com.axiomic.ezkanban.plist.
What EZKanban reads
Only its own files and the hotkeys you press. The global hotkeys use the standard macOS hotkey API, which tells EZKanban when its own shortcut is pressed and nothing else. EZKanban does not read your other files, your clipboard (except when you paste into it), your keystrokes in other apps, or anything about other applications.
What EZKanban sends
Nothing. There is no analytics SDK, no telemetry, no crash reporter, no update checker, no sync, no ads, and no AI service of any kind. EZKanban does not make any network requests. The one link in its Settings window opens axiomic.ai in your browser, and only if you click it.
Children
EZKanban does not collect any data from anyone, of any age.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, that change would be described in the app’s release notes and on this page, with an updated date at the top.
